It’s a frigid start to the morning here in Minnesota!
We woke up to -7 on the thermometer!
BRRR!
We’re grateful that we’re snug in our homes, working on our Christmas lists!
On Tuesday, we shared this year’s GRAND Gift Giving post,
filled with our favorite Amazon finds, specifically geared toward the Littles in our lives!

You can find all of our thoughts from that post here!
Today, we’re excited to hang out with you all once again,
as we share our 2025 GRAND ideas for filling those Christmas stockings this year!

Back by popular demand, this post highlights our updated
Stocking Stuffer lists - for the Littles and the Middles in our lives!
Every single year, our kids
- both the little ones and the fully grown “kids-at-heart” -
look forward to seeing what’s in their Christmas stockings!
Dare we say - for the Middles (our grown kids)
the stockings are their favorite part of our yearly gift giving traditions!
Honestly though, we’re not sure who loves this tradition more,
them OR us!

In many countries around the world,
gifts might be found on Christmas morning in a stocking,
hanging by a fireplace or even at the end of a child’s bed!
Do you know how this tradition first began?
The custom of hanging stockings comes from the legend of St. Nicholas, when he would drop money into a stocking drying by the fireplace or window to help out a poor family!
In 1823 Clement Clarke Moore’s poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas was first published and nowadays people worldwide follow the tradition…

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there!
For each of us, this has always been a cherished family tradition,
filling Christmas stockings for our children when they were Little
and now, for our Middles (our grown kids) as well as our Littles (our grandkids)

It’s a tradition neither of us can imagine giving up,
so we’re always looking for fun and creative additions to each year’s contents!
We’ve updated our lists and you’ll find them below!

Oh… the memories!
Our own kids couldn't wait to see what their stockings held each year,
filled with favorite repeats and new finds… they LOVED it all!

These days our Middles (our grown kids) love this tradition more than ever!
And, we GRANDS are always tickled
when we find something new and fun to stuff inside!

Our Middles definitely expect to see specific things in their stockings year after year (i.e. toothpaste or favorite chocolates). However, we each do our best to come up with a few new or creative yet inexpensive items to surprise them with each year. This has increasingly become more of a challenge as our Middles grow older... in-laws have joined the fold and interests, needs and wants have evolved! Below are some of the ideas we’ve brainstormed for stuffing our Middles’ stockings!! Maybe you’ll find a new idea or two to add to your own Stocking Stuffer lists, too!
NOTE: Many of these items would work for teen (or older) Littles, as well!

We LOVE finding useful, silly and unique items to add to our Middles’ stockings! Gift cards to a coffee shop, for a car wash or gasoline or to a favorite restaurant are very popular with our Middles as are single serving bottles of liquor or cocktail mixes! We also check out the dollar section of stores or the end caps at hardware stores or beauty aisles for inspiration and deals! And, of course, lottery tickets are always a fun addition to a stocking! After everyone has checked out their contents, invite everyone to scratch off in unison to see if there are any BIG winners this year!

These days we are especially excited to
stuff our Littles’ Christmas stockings!

First up, you’ll find our list for our infant & toddler Littles!

One of our favorite ways to find fun stocking stuffers for infants and toddlers is to walk the aisles of a dollar store! We look for items that are safe and that will give our Littles the chance to use their five senses… fun things to see or hear or touch! A shower scrubber, a mirror and a pastry brush are all fun examples! We like to see what we can find for $5.00 and then we hunt away!

And here’s a list of suggestions we’ve created for older Littles…
Those in preschool or elementary school!

We love adding packages of craft supplies or little collections of things that older Littles can use to create or sort or experiment to our Littles' stockings! Tape and tin foil can provide hours of fun as Littles twist, fold and build - in fact, Laurie used to give her son a roll of tin foil every year! Muffin tin liners are a great tool for sorting, a fun craft supply or they simply provide an opportunity to practice fine motor skills as Littles pull the liners apart!
HAPPY STUFFING TO YOU ALL!

We hope our suggestions help you in your own GRAND search
for the perfect stocking stuffers!

DO YOU HAVE ANY STOCKING STUFFER TIPS FOR US???
We are always looking for ideas to add to our own stocking lists,
so if you and your family have a recommendation,
PLEASE share in the comments section at the end of this post!
Thanks so much!
We’d love to have you stop by!

There’s just something magical about those simple, tucked-away surprises waiting to be discovered inside each Christmas stocking!. The Littles giggle as they pull out treats and tiny treasures, while our grown crew still can’t help but smile as they see what made its way into their stocking this time. It’s a tradition that reminds us that joy doesn’t have an age limit, and sometimes the smallest gifts bring the biggest smiles.

These are some great ideas! I almost always include a paperback book or comic book in my younger two sons' stockings since they enjoy reading. My husband and oldest son usually have some small multi tool or other assorted tool things picked out from home depot or lowe's.
