Oh May, we love you so!
Longer days!
Freshly cut grass!
Blooming flowers!
No coat weather!
Warm sunshine!
SUMMER’S PROMISE IS IN THE AIR!
Since it’s Friday, we’re back with another GRAND post for you all!
to share a few photos and moments from the past week
as well as a few of the things we’ve been focusing on at Our Grand Lives!

May looks to be a BUSY month ahead
and we’re gearing up for all the fun to come!

Laurie’s weekly FAVES both focus on her sweet Littles
and filled her heart in countless ways!
Look at Our Treasures!
Earlier this week, I went to our community library book sale with Little D.
We had such fun!
I sat her down on the floor with boxes of picture books,
and she was allowed to go through them
and put the ones she wanted in our book bag.
I was looking too, but enjoyed listening to her comments.
Here’s one about bunnies! I love bunnies!
Here’s a Clifford book I don’t have.
I have a Little Red Riding Hood book, but not this one!”
I am helping to raise a reader!
Little D and I went home after paying a whopping $24.00 for 48 books! Some for my house, some for her, some for Little Sister P, and even one she thought her dad would like (Duck Tales!!). Her mom and dad, who are also doing a great job of raising a reader, were thrilled with their Littles’ new treasures!

Since I am a reader as well,
I went back the next day alone and enjoyed browsing through the adult section.
As my husband said “You are in your happy place!”
SO TRUE!

The children’s section the second day of the sale.
The first day was much busier!

Sister Love!
What a FAVE!
These photos say it all!

These two fill my heart!
May their love for each other always shine through!

Laura is catching her breath momentarily and recalling a few recent FAVES…
A Bridal Brunch!
I hosted my second bridal shower within a month last weekend!

Our theme of “Through the Year” was such a hit! Our guests were so creative in bringing gifts that the bride and groom could use on different holidays or during each of the four seasons throughout their first year of marriage!
My daughters and I had “Spring” so we put together a “Fiesta Party” basket for the couple to share with their friends!

We added in a few more items
(including some beer from Mexico and some virgin margaritas)
before wrapping it all up!
I served a brunch with egg bakes,
yummy pastries and jam,
Wisconsin cheese curds,
fruit salad
and bacon wrapped asparagus!

And, of course, what's a bridal brunch without a few games?
Since the guest list included people from both families
we were sure to provide an opportunity for the groom’s side
to get to know our bride better!

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with lots of love!
(Next Thursday, we’ll share more details from these special gatherings!)

It’s Been a Year!
I can’t quite believe that this was a year ago this week!

These past few weeks, I’ve been working on a special project
to celebrate our first year with this special Little!

We’ll be celebrating our Little P all weekend!

Time to pack!
I can’t wait!

We’ve been celebrating Spring and Mother’s Day
at Our Grand Lives this past week!
Yesterday, on the blog, we shared our recipe for
Lemon Blueberry Poke Cake!

The flavors scream springtime
and it tastes... oh my!
You’ll find the complete recipe here!

Mother’s Day Brunch Bites!
Do you love to cook/bake with your Littles?
In this Mother’s Day post from last year,
we shared several easy and delicious recipes
to make for Mom on Mother’s Day
(or, honestly, any day for any one, they are all FAVES)!

We’ve got our
Tortilla Quiche,
French Toast Muffins,
Berry Yogurt Parfaits,
and lots more, too!

Each recipe is perfect for little hands to help with!

As always, we invite you to subscribe to our blog.
We’ve always got something new to share!

The sight of all those books warms my heart - particularly in an age where it seems no one reads anymore, at least not paper books.
Also baking with the kiddies ❤️❤️❤️. We are giving them positive memories of fun in the kitchen as well as skills which will be invaluable. Yay Moms/GrandMoms!
Hi Laura, gee those two little granddaughters of yours are so cute. What lucky girls they are to have a grandmother so devoted to them providing such fun activities and enrichment and love! I love the bridal brunch game of putting the photographs in chronological order. I found myself automatically working it out and moving the photographs in my mind! lol Enjoy the warmer weather. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying cooler weather! Oh yummy - all those food photos at the end! Hope you're having a great week and thank you for linking up with #WWWhimsy xo

Hi Laura what wonderful memories you make. I'm very happy that my daughter as raised two boys who love reading. We have started a little book club and it is good to see them trying to dig deeper into their reading. Have a lovely week and keep enjoying those grandbabies. Sue L #TeamWWWhimsy
